Eat what you have

We have been learning to use everything we have, repurpose what we can, and most importantly, eat the food we have in the house. There have been a bunch of things in the CSA haul that we have never had before, or that I don't usually use, but we have found a way to use them or save them for later.

Today I processed and froze our chinese cabbage knowing it will be used in pot stickers, so the texture is not as important. We also froze some baby broccoli, it wasn't enough for a side dish, but will be great in veggie soup come fall. I have also blanched and frozen kale for sausage soup in the fall and winter. I love using new ingredients and using what we have up.
