Gone to trash

So Friday our trash can disappeared, which I thought was strange. I left a message for the trash company and they called back this morning and said we were six months behind....um, no. So I pulled up all the cleared checks and gave them the numbers and dates and am waiting for them to call back and tell me when I can have my trash can back. Here is the thing, I never knew there was an issue since there were no notices and no calls, if they had sent a notice, I would have straightened this out BEFORE they took my trash can away, but I thought all was swell since I paid the bill and they cashed the check.
